The first course of millinery to discover the secrets of the hat!
Do you know why the Mad Hatter is called that? Working in contact with chemicals and steam to shape felt, Lewis Carrol’s character is inebriated with fumes and perfumes.
Cloche, fascinator, millinery, fedora, panama, pork pie … take shape working felt, wool, straw and other tailoring materials.
This is how hat is born, an icon of Italian style.
The workshop includes a theoretical introductory part on materials (wool, felt, natural fibers, straw and various fabrics) and techniques (pressing of felts and natural fibers on wooden shapes, making flowers and decorative elements) used in millinery; then, using old wooden shapes, making a hat and decorating with various flowers and accessories.
Materials will be provided and the necessary tools will be made available. The course will be developed in two lessons of 3 hours each.
