LeArtigiane.it was born on Christmas eve 1999 by an idea of Livia Carchella (a degree in Psychology) and Bruna Pietropaoli (a degree in business & economics).

The project was ambitious, the market a difficult one. Nevertheless within a couple of days the first e-mail came: it was kind, and enthusiastic.

“Knock Knock …May I come in?”, a thirty years old craftswoman introduced herself asking to join the group. It was an unmistakable sign for Livia and Bruna.

Then the first on-line purchase came and, later, the IBM AWARD 2000 for the best internet business ideas. Year after year the membership of craftswomen increased steadily.

The web site is now a meeting point and not just for Italian women. It’s the ideal shop for people who go beyond fashion trends, far from  banality, against standardization.
